West Hills Student Ministry
“How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity.”
-Psalm 133:1 (NRSV)
Our student ministry is for teenagers in 6th – 12th grade. We are represented by a variety of schools, ages, interests, and backgrounds. The teenage years are a critical time for spiritual growth and development as teenagers. West Hills youth offers a variety of experiences to help enrich, encourage, and walk alongside teenagers in their spiritual development.
We meet on Wednesday nights for dinner at 5:15pm in the gym, followed by games, fellowship, and Bible study in the youth room behind the gym from 6:00-7:00 PM. We would love for you to join us!
On Sunday mornings we have youth Sunday school in the youth room behind the gym from 9:30-10:30, followed by worship at 10:50 in the sanctuary. This is a great time of spiritual formation, discussion, and exploration of the biblical text with application to the lives of teenagers. We hope you will join us!
In the words of our teenagers:
Our teenagers were asked to describe our youth group and what they gain from their youth experience at West Hills recently. Here is what they said:
West Hills youth group is “close-knit, diverse, has many talents, welcoming, open, not afraid to hide anything, can laugh and be serious, and they are my friends.”
What our students gained from this group is “other perspectives, confidence, an amazing support group, a group that has helped me accomplish something, always someone to talk to, a group that is non-judging, and a group that has many spiritual gifts.”
A note from our Youth Minister:
The teenage years are such an important time of development across all facets of life for teenagers. Our hope and prayer is that the West Hills youth group is a place of spiritual growth and development, encouragement, friendship, fun, and challenge that points teenagers to see God working in their everyday lives.
We consider it an honor to walk with teenagers and to experience life with them as they seek to follow more closely after Christ in all that they do. Through Sunday morning Sunday School, Wednesday night activities, summer camp, fun and fellowship events, retreats, and other special events, we seek to point teenagers toward life with God, who loves them and desperately seeks to walk their journey through life with them. I hope you will bring your teenagers and join us at West Hills, as we seek to follow after and discover God in our daily lives.
