West Hills is a church where your family can become educated in how to be healthy Christians as individuals and as a unit. We pride ourselves on educating Children and adults alike in engaging, informative atmospheres that foster a lifetime of Christian learning. We offer several bible studies and Sunday School classes on a wide range of topics. Current Sunday School offerings and bible studies are listed below.

SUNDAY SCHOOL IN MOTION DIVISION (Kindergarten through 6th Grade)

Rotation Coordinator: Brenda Logan

In West Hills Sunday School Rotation, creative biblical education takes the drivers seat. Children gather in the atrium, divided into similar age groups, and then guided to their classes by their assigned “shepards.” They rotate though five weeks of cooking/science, drama, music/games, art, and computers, learning the same basic lesson in 5 different ways. Children love this exciting way of learning the Bible.

YOUTH DIVISION (7th through 12th grade) Youth Chapel

Teachers: Pete Pearson and Jennifer McMillian

The West Hills Baptist Youth are an open, accepting group of young people. Their class is an atmosphere where the goal is to grow closer to Christ and each other through Bible study, fellowship, activities, and missions.

COLLEGE

Teacher: Matt Howell

When college students are home, Matt Howell is available to teach a discussion oriented Sunday School lesson.

YOUNG ADULTS Room 35 Literature Varies

(20s through late 30s)

Coordinators: Matt Howell and Lee Cross

This class addresses relevant issues to young adults and those attempting to build a strong foundation for faith and family by invoking lively discussion. The subjects of study incorporate both theological subjects and real-life situations. Literature may be the Bible, a workbook of some sort, or a short book. Studies are usually in series and vary in topic. This class also discusses topics regularly outside of class on a blog.

HORIZON Room 36 Literature Varies

(Mixed Adults – All Ages Welcome)

Teacher: Christine Neal

An intensive Bible study involving lively discussions. Topics may range from in depth study of specific books of the bible to studies of books by authors such as Nouwen. This is a highly interesting and intellectually stimulating class.

OPEN DOOR Room 40 Smyth and Helwys Uniform

(Mixed Adults – All Ages Welcome)

Teacher: Mike Hines

A Scripture based bible study with lively discussions. Eclectic group of interesting people who welcome newcomers. This class embodies warm fellowship.

GRACE Room 38 Literature Varies

(Mixed Adults – 40s and 50s)

Teacher: Tammy Blom

Interesting, interactive bible study. Experience and enjoy warm fellowship as we grow in our Christian journey.

JOY Room 44 Smyth and Helwys Formations

(Ladies – 40s-60s)

Teacher: Phyllis Johnson

This highly interesting bible study encompasses joy and support in our Christian walk. Monthly class meetings outside of class promote fellowship as we grow together.

A motivating Bible study with lively discussions where participation is encouraged. We stay actively involved in missions projects. A missions oriented class.

AGAPE Room 43 Smyth and Helwys Formations

(Ladies – 50s and 60s)

Exciting study with lively, open discussions where participation is encouraged. Warm-hearted, supported group of women.

MEN'S CLASS

(Men - 60 and above)

An active, stimulating bible study with cross referencing in scripture. Encourage discussion, and participation.

Biblical and Theological Education is provided every Wednesday night at 6:30 in the church sanctuary.

YOUNG WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY
