Mission Education
Church children are given a chance to learn more about mission opportunities and missionaries through Mission Friends (ages 2-5), Girls in Action (grades 1-6), and Royal Ambassadors (grades 1-6). Youth may participate in YOM (Youth on Mission) and adults can join Women on Mission or participate in any of the other many missions constantly happening through West Hills.

FISH of Knox County (website)
Deliveries of staple food items are made to needy families each month by our church members. West Hills Baptist Church is responsible for purchasing food and stocking the FISH pantry each January. By combining our efforts with those of other churches, we can collectively help more people than we could individually.

Youth Missions Trips
Youth in grades 7-12 may participate in a concentrated mission activity. Some of those activities include Passport, Habitat for Humanity and trips to do missions in New York and other areas of the country. They may participate in construction work, conduct Vacation Bible Schools or perform other mission activities while on these trips.

Appalachian Outreach (website)
Many adults and youth from our congregation take a week each summer to participate in Appalachian Outreach. The ministry began in 1984 as a home repair ministry for poverty level people, by the Campus Ministries Department of Carson-Newman College, Jefferson City, Tennessee. Since then Appalachian Outreach has expanded it's ministries to include a homeless shelter called Samaritan House , a food distribution ministry, a used clothing and furniture ministry, a computer and GED educational program, a ministry to Hispanic people, the Second Source Thrift Store, a recycling program, Christian nurturing and counseling.

Operation Inasmuch
At least once a quarter, adults and youth donate a Saturday or more to community missions projects ranging from lawn work to home repairs or small construction projects such as handicapped walker bags.

Western Heights Christmas Party

In December the members of West Hills host a Christmas party for disadvantaged children from the Western Heights community. Dinner, entertainment, and gifts are provided for approximately 100 children and their familieseach year.

Homebound Ministry

A homebound Ministry is available for those who are unable to attend worship services. Volunteers make home visits, deliver literature, and distribute audio tapes of the Sunday morning services.

Building Use
West Hills Baptist Church has played a vital role by opening its doors to the community. The facility has been "home" to groups suuch as the KAIROS prison ministry, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts, sports teams, and other community activities.
