Educated at the University of Tennessee and Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, Rev. Pennington has served six churches in three states. In addition, he has taught in the religion department of Lincoln Memorial University and Hiwassee College. He has been very active in ecumenical work in Tennessee, Kentucky, and North Carolina.

Heather brings passion, energy and excitement to the children and youth of
West Hills with creative and inspiring programming, teachings and experiences.
She was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and graduated from Salem College
with a Degree in Religion. Heather met her husband, Todd while attending seminary
at Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond. She and her husband moved to
Knoxville and West Hills after accepting the position in June of 2006.

Dr. Thorson is a professor in the music department of Carson-Newman College and the director of Knoxville's Choral Society. He brings to the music department of West Hills Baptist a wealth of experience in excellence.
